Privacy Policy

Unfog collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, and no server of ours for your notes to travel to.

Applies to the Unfog app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Last updated 7 August 2026.

What we collect

Nothing. We operate no servers, run no analytics, embed no advertising and include no third-party SDKs. No information about you or your use of Unfog is transmitted to us, ever.

Your notes

Everything you write stays on your device, including any photos you attach. Sorting, rewriting, tagging and text recognition all run locally using Apple's on-device intelligence. Your notes are not sent anywhere to be processed.

iCloud sync โ€” optional

If you turn sync on, your notes are mirrored to the private CloudKit database inside your own Apple Account so your other devices can see them. That storage belongs to you. We have no access to it and no ability to read, export or recover its contents. Turning sync off stops the mirroring; deleting your notes removes them from it.

Dictation

Dictation uses Apple's Speech framework. Unfog requests on-device recognition wherever the device supports it. On devices that do not, Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple's own privacy policy. We never receive the audio or the transcript. Microphone access is used only while you are actively dictating.

Purchases

Unfog Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the transaction and we never see your payment details, card, or address. We receive only an anonymous confirmation from Apple that a purchase is active on the device.

Children

Unfog is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages, but it collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Because the app collects nothing, we do not expect substantive changes.
